How to Create an Assessment in TestTrick – Complete Flow

Creating an assessment in TestTrick is a straightforward process that allows you to evaluate candidates effectively for a specific job role. This article guides you through the complete flow, from login to candidate evaluation.



  1. Login to your TestTrick account using your credentials.

  1. On the dashboard, click the “Create Assessment” button to start a new assessment.





Step 1: Select Job Role


  1. In Step 1 of the assessment creation flow, select the job role you are hiring for.

Choosing a job role ensures that the assessment is aligned with the required skills and competencies for that position.


Step 2: Add Tests to Your Assessment


  1. Add Tests from TestTrick or Your Custom Library
    • You can switch between TestTrick’s predefined test library and your custom created tests.

    • To add a test, simply click “Add Test”. The selected test will appear in the “Selected Tests” area.

    • Edit Tests (Optional)

    • Click Edit on any selected test to modify:
      • Test Name
      • Time Limit
      • Number of Questions for the Candidate
      • Randomization toggle
    • You can view or delete questions, as well as change the order of tests if multiple tests are added.

    • Filters and Search
    • Use filters to quickly find the best tests based on skill, topic, or difficulty.

💡 Pro Tip: Multiple tests can be added to a single assessment, allowing comprehensive evaluation across different skill areas.

Step 3: Add Custom Questions


  1. In Step 3, you can add additional custom questions to any test in your assessment.

  1. You can create any question type supported by TestTrick directly in this step, giving you the flexibility to capture candidate responses beyond standard skill tests.

  1. You can also edit the name of each custom question, keeping your assessment organized and easy to manage.


Step 4: Configure Assessment Settings

Step 4 allows you to review and adjust proctoring, candidate access, grading, integration, configurations, and user access settings:


    • Proctoring: Enable webcam monitoring, screen tracking, full-screen enforcement, and other anti-cheating measures.
    • Candidates Access: Control how and when candidates can take the assessment.
    • Grading: Set scoring, passing criteria, and evaluation rules.
    • Integration: Link assessments to ATS jobs for seamless candidate management.
    • Configurations: Iyou can set a candidate support email and enable email notifications when a candidate submits the assessment.
    • User Access: Manage which team members can view or modify the assessment.

Once all settings are configured, click “Save and Finish” to finalize the assessment.


Step 6: Invite Candidates

  1. After the assessment is created, you can invite candidates to take the test.
  2. Track candidate progress and completion status in real-time.



Step 7: Evaluate Results

Once candidates have completed the assessment, review their results and performance analytics.

TestTrick provides detailed insights into:

    • Candidate scores per test and question
    • Overall grading
    • Comparison across multiple candidates

Use these insights to make data-driven hiring decisions.
