Candidate Experience FAQs
Q. Are candidates allowed to take assessments on mobile devices?
Yes, candidates can take assessments on mobile or tablet devices if mobile access is enabled for the assessment.
Q. How do I allow candidates to take an assessment on mobile?
- Open the assessment you want to configure.
- Go to Step 4: Settings.
- Navigate to Proctoring.
- Enable Allow access from mobile/tablet devices.
- Save the assessment.
Once enabled, candidates can open and attempt the assessment on supported mobile and tablet devices.
⚠️ Important:
Mobile access is automatically disabled if the assessment contains:
- Coding questions
- Database questions
These question types require a desktop or laptop for proper functionality.
Q. Are proctoring features supported on mobile devices?
When candidates attempt an assessment on mobile or tablet devices, only limited proctoring features are supported.
Automatically Disabled on Mobile
The following proctoring options are not supported on mobile devices and will be auto-disabled:
- Enable camera proctoring
- Enable screen proctoring
- Tab proctoring
- Detect multiple monitors
Supported on Mobile
Only the following controls remain active on mobile:
- Disable external copy/paste
- Move to full screen when assessment starts
Q. How does TestTrick prevent candidates from cheating during assessments?
TestTrick uses proctoring and security measures such as camera monitoring, screen and tab tracking, full-screen enforcement, copy/paste restrictions, and multiple-monitor detection. Any suspicious activity is automatically flagged and shown in the candidate evaluation report, helping evaluators review behavior along with test scores for fair decision-making.
Q. What happens if a candidate repeatedly violates security rules during an assessment?
TestTrick continuously monitors candidate activity during an assessment. If a security requirement (such as screen sharing, camera access, or full-screen mode) is interrupted, the candidate must re-enable it to continue. All repeated or prolonged breaches are logged and flagged in the evaluation report for reviewer visibility.
Q. Which browsers are supported for taking assessments on TestTrick?
TestTrick supports major modern browsers to ensure a smooth assessment experience. We recommend using Google Chrome for best performance. Other supported browsers include Firefox and Microsoft Edge . If a candidate tries to access an assessment using an unsupported browser, a modal will appear notifying them: “This browser is not supported. Please use Chrome.”
Q. Can candidates attempt all question types on mobile devices?
TestTrick allows candidates to attempt most question types on mobile devices. However, coding and database questions are not supported on mobile. We strongly recommend using a desktop or laptop, as certain proctoring features and security checks work on desktop browsers, ensuring a smooth and secure assessment experience.
Q. Can candidates pause an assessment in TestTrick?
No, TestTrick does not support pausing an assessment. This is to maintain assessment integrity and security. If a candidate exits the assessment and then resumes it, the evaluation report will show that the assessment was not completed in a single attempt, and this information is visible to the evaluator.
Q. Does TestTrick allow candidates to continue an assessment after quitting midway?
TestTrick gives organizations the flexibility to decide this behavior during assessment creation. If this option is enabled, candidates are shown an Important Notice before starting the assessment, informing them that the assessment must be completed in one sitting and that exiting midway will expire their link.

Once the candidate confirms and proceeds, quitting the assessment at any stage will immediately expire the invitation link. The candidate will then see an Invitation Expired message stating that the assessment cannot be resumed to ensure fairness.

This approach helps maintain assessment integrity while clearly communicating expectations to candidates.
