Tools and Requirements for Taking a TestTrick Assessment

Welcome to TestTrick! If you've been invited to take an assessment, this guide will ensure that you are fully prepared with the right equipment, browser, and permissions to complete your assessment smoothly.

  • Desktop / Laptop (Preferred)

We highly recommend using a desktop or laptop computer for your assessment. These devices provide a larger screen and better compatibility with TestTrick’s platform. This is especially important for video responses, coding questions, or proctored assessments.

  • Mobile Devices (Optional / Not Recommended)

Mobile phones and tablets are allowed only if the employer has explicitly enabled mobile access for the assessment.

If mobile access is not enabled, you will see a message indicating that the assessment cannot be taken on a mobile device.

Switching to desktop mode in your browser will also not allow you to continue, as mobile devices do not support required features such as screen sharing and proctoring.

Browser Compatibility

TestTrick ensures a smooth assessment experience by supporting major browsers and devices, providing clear guidance on keeping them updated for optimal performance.

Browser / Device Version Requirement Compatibility Recommendation Level Update Guide
Google Chrome 80.0 or higher Fully compatible Highly recommended Update Chrome
Microsoft Edge Latest version Fully compatible Moderately recommended Update Edge
Firefox Latest version Fully compatible Moderately recommended Update Firefox
iPhone / iOS Latest iOS Fully compatible Moderately recommended Update iOS
Android Latest version Fully compatible Moderately recommended Update Android

Recommendation: Google Chrome Latest version provides the smoothest experience for assessments and proctoring.

Camera & Microphone Permissions

To record video responses and allow proctoring, TestTrick requires access to your camera and microphone. If the permission pop-up doesn’t appear, try the following steps:

If you are unable to proceed, try the following steps:

1. Check if pop-ups are blocked

Some browsers block permission pop-ups automatically. If this happens, the camera or microphone request may not appear.

To fix this:

  • Click the lock icon located next to the website URL in your browser.
  • Locate Camera and Microphone permissions.
  • Change both settings to Allow.

2. Update your browser

  • Using the latest browser version ensures full compatibility with all features, including video questions and proctoring.

3. Disable conflicting extensions

  • Some browser extensions (privacy, ad blockers, or security tools) may prevent access.
  • Try temporarily disabling them and refreshing the page.

4. Try another browser or device

  • Switching browsers or using a different device can help identify if the issue is browser-specific.
